Nothing looks older today than yesterday's robots. Rewind through the history of science fiction and you'll find hundreds of robots to whom time has not been kind – creations that looked newer-than-new when they first emerged but now appear tragically tinny.

Smith's Bookshop
Julian Dashper's drawing/collage Blue Cross at Smith's Bookshop captures something of the friendly chaos that welcomed visitors as they stepped off the footpath of Manchester street and into one of Christchurch's most well-known and best-loved bookstores.
