Curator, writer and researcher Megan Tamati-Quennell (Te Ātiawa, Kāti Māmoe, Ngāi Tahu) explores the work of artist Ana Iti (Te Rarawa, Ngāi Tūpoto, Ngāti Here, Pākehā)

Megan will discuss a number of projects by Ana that she has engaged with, beginning with The woman whose back was a whetstone, commissioned for Swallowing Geography at Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in 2021, Only Fools are Lonely (2018, Te Papa Tongarewa), A hybrid made of both (2025, created for the Sharjah Biennial 16: to carry) as well as Ana’s 2024 Walters Prize winning work A resilient heart like the mānawa.
