I've just been at a memorable Te Arawa ceremony here in the Rotorua Museum and Art Gallery to welcome back a pare. It's a beautiful work and it was an emotional moment when the crate was opened at the ceremony.

I've got hurt feelings
As you'll know if you've spent much time visiting public galleries and reading their signage, certain artworks MAY OFFEND SOME VIEWERS. Occasionally they are even credited with the capacity to DISTURB or UPSET.

We're painting a mural
Well, actually the students from room 19 at Halswell School are. I was in class a couple of mornings ago helping the kids to create mural designs to hang in the the soon to re-open Arts Centre Market. They have created some very charming pictures of all the things they can remember about the place.
