Behind the scenes
Down into West Yorkshire today for a visit to Wakefield.
I was trying to locate this building. This is an etching from our collection by Australian actor-artist W.S. Percy, who probably visited in the 1920s.

Thanks to the marvellous collection of Wakefield memorabilia belonging to Maggie Land Blanck, I had established that the building shown was known as the 'Six Chimneys'. This card dates from 1906.

Well, today the name lives on, but the scene looks like this:
