Repeat pattern
If you've tried to call or email me in the last seven weeks or so then you will have been greeted by my answerphone or an out-of-office reply. That's because I've spent the last couple of months in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where I have been undertaking an eight week residency at Shalini Ganendra Fine Art, courtesy of the Asia New Zealand Foundation.

One of the highlights for staff over the eight or so years that the Christchurch Art Gallery was open prior to the shakes was the opportunity to work alongside Julian Dashper on his exhibition To The Unknown New Zealander.

They hosted a gala fundraiser on Saturday night where director Jenny Harper announced that the Trust is committed to purchasing Michael Parekowhai's Chapman's Homer – a work that was shown in Christchurch a year ago and made a profound impact.
