A tale of two frames: a conservator's journey.
Born in France, Anne-Sophie Ninino arrived in Aotearoa New Zealand in 2012. She is highly trained in heritage object conservation and has worked on a number of significant earthquake remediation projects in Christchurch, as well as conservation work for Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū.
Anne-Sophie assisted with preparation for the exhibition ‘Out of Time’ curated by Ken Hall and became fascinated by two portraits in particular. The conservation processes undertaken on these two frames embody the sometimes challenging journey of a frame conservator working on museum pieces.
Join Anne-Sophie as she navigates us through the challenges of working on heritage pieces.
