One of my favourite drives in the South Island is along the Motueka Valley Highway past Pangatotara and on to Motueka and Riwaka - not only for the stunning landscape and beautiful Tasman Bay beyond but also for the amazing hop gardens that predominate in the area.

If you enjoyed viewing Jason Greig's work in the exhibition De Lautour / Greig / Hammond, which is on now at the Christchurch Art Gallery's space at NG on Madras street, then make sure you don't miss his exhibition Jekyll and Hyde currently running at SOFA Gallery at the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts. 

It's a strange truism of exhibition installation that sometimes in order to set a show up, you need to first knock a wall down. 

Open, closed or merged; there's no doubt these are challenging days for all schools in Canterbury.
