Populate! update #27 (Night visions)
Enlarging the circuit of nocturnal Populate! works (see also Steve Carr's Majo on Worcester Boulevard, Tony Oursler's flickering Incandescence on Madras Street, and the awesome Oursler gallery headbutt blogged by Felicity this morning), here's Ronnie's Comin' Down wearing its new nocturnal colours. Think holograms, night vision goggles, ectoplasm, little (or big) green men, and Martian beams descending from the big dark Canterbury skies. (Thanks Chris Pole for these photos.)

Dress them up with a long-sleeved fluoro jacket. Dress them down with a short-sleeved one. Team them with your 'CERA separates' -- work boots or a protective helmet. Or wear one as a sash and pretend you're Miss New Zealand. Whichever fashion road you go down, these Populate! lanyards are the danglers de rigueur for this season's with-it street party attendants.

Ronnie van Hout is the artist responsible for the mysterious figure pointing skywards that has appeared on the roof of a central city building.
