Behind the scenes
It seems a lifetime ago that we combined with Gap Filler to launch the Gallery's first post-quake Outer Spaces project in Sydenham.

Wayne Youle's heriocally-scaled mural I seem to have temporarily misplaced my sense of humour was unveiled (with a sausage sizzle) in December 2011, at a time when the historic suburb was still reeling from earthquake induced demolitions. The area is now a hive of activity of all kinds and it's great to see art at the centre of First Thursdays, a new monthly event that will include exhibitions, performances, a night market and even a tour of the local street art. Wonder if Wayne's work, which is still hanging in there with great style, will get a look in?
