Whenever the Gallery curators are discussing a work of art that features horses, it's not long before someone suggests that I (as a horse owner) must be just bursting to do an equine-related show. I'm not sure that's exactly true - I've held off till now, after all - but it is surprising how many gigis are jostling around in the CAG collection. For example...

Size, of course, isn't everything, but at 50 metres high it's hard not be be impressed by the scale of British artist Mark Wallinger's winning proposal for the Ebsfleet Landmark project - a kind of Angel of the North in the South for Kent. if it ever happens - the budget has bolted from 2 million pounds to 12 - it is estimated that more than 60 million people will see the work every year. No estimates yet on how many will try the old 'I can hold a horse in my hand' tricky perspective photo, though...
