CIRCUIT premieres Thick Cinema, five new artist cinema commissions curated by Mercedes Vicente.
Thick Cinema features work by Fiona Amundsen, John Di Stefano, Sam Hamilton, Kim Pieters and Joyce Campbell. Each of the five artists has responded to the provocations of the associated symposium The Thickness of Cinema, and the resulting works have been completed in locations including New Zealand, the USA, Australia and Japan. Three of the artists (Amundsen, Pieters and Campbell) will be present for the screening and take part in Saturday’s symposium as speakers.
