Chris Braddock: Lessons in Waiting

Performance

Saturday 26 July 2025 / 2pm

Free

Chris Braddock activates wearable ‘performance-prop sculptures.’ Participants playfully engage in activities that explore the value in resting, stopping, contemplating and silence.

Chris Braddock is professor of visual arts at Auckland University of Technology and works across sculpture, performance art and pedagogical methods.

This performance is a part of A Time of Waiting, a series of temporary installations, site activations, and performances that investigate how seemingly passive actions can resonate or become politically charged responses to the relentless pace and demands of contemporary life.

Curated and toured by Chris Braddock, John Vea and Stephen Cleland, with support from Creative New Zealand, Auckland University of Technology and Te Wai Ngutu Kākā Gallery, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Keep an eye on our website for additional performances in this series.
