In this talk art historian Margaux Warne will examine some of the links between England's Votes for Women campaign and the visual arts.
Warne will discuss the work of activist and artist Sylvia Pankhurst, the photography of Christina Broom, and the ways in which the Suffragettes promoted their cause through visual media.
Warne is an independent art historian based in Christchurch. Her research focuses on nineteenth-century art and literature.
