Artist Matt Walters will talk on how artists and creative solutions play an ever-increasing role in our futures and have the ability to change the world.
Matt undertook his formal study in fine arts, completing a master's in visual culture and attaining a post-graduate qualification in education. His thesis was concerned with the language and protocol around interacting with artworks in a gallery setting, using language and linguistics as a basis for the social system of art. For his presentation to the Friends, Matt will talk about the creative process and how ideas change the world. At the heart of successful innovation is the ability to visualise and create a better something and the willingness and courage to try new ways in which to realise utopias. Amongst the plethora of instant information and different knowledge, the ability to create a future may be expressed in the visual or the written, the action or the spoken – ultimately however it begins with the idea. Join Matt to hear more about how artists and creative solution play an ever-increasing role in our futures.
