Curator Ken Hall travels to the Pacific Northwest coast of America with a 22-year old Alexander Walker, eight years after the exploratory voyage made by Captain James Cook.
Alexander Walker's observations on the artistic and material culture and languages of the peoples of Nootka Sound and Prince William Sound have been recognised as highly significant. Ken Hall has been at the Gallery since 2003. As one of the Gallery's curatorial team, Ken is involved with creating exhibitions and collection development as well as writing and research. He has worked recently with artists Chris Heaphy and Sara Hughes on the Transitional Cathedral Square artist project.
