This month, we visit the studio of printmaker Ben Reid.
Printmaker Ben Reid explores the consequences of colonisation on New Zealand's native ecosystem. His engaging works pose questions regarding the impact of human intervention on the land. A new body of prints are based on a recent visit to Campbell Island where he travelled by boat through rough Subantarctic seas to encounter the island's unique history, flora and fauna. Reid graduated from Christchurch Polytechnic School of Art and Visual Design in 2005, and worked for three years as an assistant printmaker to Marian Maguire at PaperGraphica in Christchurch.
Meet Lydia Baxendell at 32 Esplanade, Sumner at 8.50am on the day.
