Australian writer Trent Dalton’s dazzling coming-of-age debut Boy Swallows Universe captured the hearts and minds of readers worldwide, selling over a million copies and inspiring major stage and Netflix adaptations.
Dalton seamlessly brings together gritty realism, social issues and tender, compassionate storytelling which draws from his own life experience and background as an award-winning investigative journalist.
He joins The Spinoff’s Alex Casey to discuss his writing, life and bighearted new novel Lola in the Mirror, a moving story of a mother and daughter on the run and a girl with dreams of being an international artist.
