Behind the scenes
The exhibition opens on Worcester Boulevard on Saturday morning. So our exhibitions team, with assistance from Scenic Solutions, has been hard at work building the display stands over the past few days.
First came the arrival of one 40-foot container, and from it came the 28 steel bases, 28 upright frames, 28 boxes, 28 lids, 56 lights, 56 light-extension arms, 336 nuts and bolts and 448 tech screws that make up the display stands. Each one needed to be cleaned, re-painted, assembled, weighted down – our thanks here to Fulton Hogan for the 168 x 25 kg bags (4 tonnes) of sand they provided ( free of charge) – and lined up on the street. After that, each frame was completely rewired by Electro Tech Services using nearly 200 metres of electrical wire.
