The first part covers the last-born three artists and writers of Spiral 8: Hilary Baxter, Allie Eagle, Lynne Ciochetto, with additional writers Cushla Parekowhai, Gaylene Preston, Joanna Paul, Judith Galtry, Marian Evans and Steven Myhre.

The other three parts — Some Spiral Collectives stories; Some individual stories; and Screen Work — draw on interviews and essays from our open research project, with writers and artists Allie Eagle, Annie Collins, Annie Mein, from Auckland Women’s Community Video, Bea Joblin, Bridie Lonie, Cushla Parekowhai, Heather McPherson, Jane Zusters, Joanna Margaret Paul, Kim Hunt, Louise Hutt, Marian Evans, Mary Bailey, Merata Mita, Miriam Saphira, Rouzie Hassanova, Sarah Jane Moon, Spiral Collectives, and Vicki McDonald.
