The kaleidoscopic moving imagery of Christchurch artist Toshi Endo has been stripped of colour and brought to a standstill in Wolf-Cub, his contribution to Christchurch Art Gallery's Stereoscope programme.

The kaleidoscopic moving imagery of Christchurch artist Toshi Endo has been stripped of colour and brought to a standstill in Wolf-Cub, his contribution to Christchurch Art Gallery's Stereoscope programme. Grounded in computer technology, the humble pencil, paintbrush or other traditional tools of the trade have been replaced with the click of a mouse in Endo's work – Endo has also worked as a video game designer and this informs much of his current artistic practice. The repetitive, seemingly random computer-generated shapes in Wolf-Cub offer a refreshing play of light and dark abstract tones.
