This exhibition was toured by the Empire Art Loan Exhibitions Society and toured all the main cities in Australia and New Zealand. It was complementary to the Early British Watercolours exhibition that had toured the country in 1950.

Assembled from public collections in Britain, it featured artists such as Hercules Brabazon, Sir Edwin Landseer, Edward Lear and John Ruskin.
