Visit the studio of Roger Boyce whose exhibition The Illustrated History of Painting is currently on show at the Gallery.
Roger Boyce, senior lecturer in painting at the University of Canterbury, has exhibited internationally, including in Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Often provocative, his work highlights an interest in pulp novel covers and B-grade film posters. Senior Curator Justin Paton points particularly to Boyce's ‘cartoon look and low humour' demonstrated in the 100 panels which represent The Illustrated History of Painting is currently on show at the Gallery.
