Whakahā emerges from Louise Pōtiki Bryant's (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Māmoe, Waitaha) personal experiences of Cyclone Gabrielle, delving into the stillness before the storm to explore the moment of pause before Papatūānuku exhales.

This performance is a part of A Time of Waiting, a series of temporary installations, site activations, and performances that investigate how seemingly passive actions can resonate or become politically charged responses to the relentless pace and demands of contemporary life.

Curated and toured by Chris Braddock, John Vea and Stephen Cleland, with support from Creative New Zealand, Auckland University of Technology and Te Wai Ngutu Kākā Gallery, Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Keep an eye on our website for additional performances in this series.
