'Seascape with Causeway' is an imagined scene that reflects Bensemann’s fascination with rock shapes throughout the 1970s and 80s. In this painting he breathes life into the solid rock forms, creating anthropomorphic qualities in the shapes to the left which form a human face; the eye, nose, cheek and mouth are disguised but clearly visible.
