It's an exhibition of book covers and dust jackets created by artists whose 'high art' will probably already be pretty familiar. One of the rules for putting the show together was to include designs only by artists who are represented in the Gallery's regular art collection.

So, looking at the boooks illustrated above, we can see the work of Colin McCahon, Juliet Peter, Patrick Hanly and Ralph Hotere.

The big reveal - of the fronts of the books rather than just their spines - will happen on Friday 30 May
