Not-so-young guns

Behind the scenes

They say auction houses are becoming more powerful, but this is really spooky.

Armed with nothing more than a loose grasp of fact and a do-or-die promotional impulse, Webb's Auction House have managed to prematurely age Peter Robinson.

According to their latest catalogue, 'Robinson's large-scale, fabricated installations have established him as one of New Zealand's most senior practitioners'.

Robinson (b. 1966) will need to watch out though, with young turks Mrkusich (b.1925), Hotere (b.1921) and Gimblett (b.1935) nipping at the master's heels.
