Shaped by Hand was held at the Museum of Wellington, 3 March to 28 June 2009.

It was not the numbered annual exhibition for that year, which was held almost simultaneously, at the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, also in Wellington.

It celebrated 50 years of the Society and provides a useful list of exhibition dates and venues over that period.
