Twentieth century art was marked, at its beginning, by a number of revolutionary movements which entirely transformed the world of painting.

This exhibition of reproductions reflected the evolution of new movements and trends which marked the first quarter of the twentieth century. This period saw the birth of Fauvism, German Expressionism, Cubism, Futurism, Dadaism, Surrealism and the different forms of non-figurative art. Post-impressionist and Art Noveau works were also represented,

Artists included Monet, Renoir, Cézanne, van Gogh, Bonnard, Matisse, Derain, Rouault, Oskar Kokoschka, Picasso, Braque, Duchamp, Chagall, Klee, Kandinsky, Utrillo, Modigliani, Ernst, Soutine, Miro and many others.
