Morgan Jones has long had a close relationship in his work with the environment in which he lives. Often his sculptures have formed a definite part of the landscape as much as the landscape has formed part of his sculpture. During the past year or so he has lived in Central Otago close to the site of much gold discovery last century and this experience is reflected in the work In Search of Go(l)d.
Materials have always played a significant role in Jones' sculpture and this installation will be no exception to that. It comprises several floor and wall units and utilises materials as varied as ply wood, copper, brass and natural rock.
