French Prints from 1800

This exhibition of 19th and 20th century French prints was the ninth touring exhibition held at the Robert McDougall Art Gallery during the previous twelve months. It was from the collection of the Auckland Art Gallery (acquired since 1953) and was lent for a tour of six galleries.

The most important years in French Art, from 1870 to 1930 were represented by artists including Matisse, Renoir, Manet, Bonnard, Picasso, Delacroix, Chagall, Cezanne, Toulouse Lautrec and Gauguin.

The price of admission was one shilling.
