Edward Weston (1886-1958) was a dominant figure in the world of photography, concentrating on natural forms.
This exhibition comprised 50 photographs from contact prints form original 8" X 10" negatives printed by his son Cole under the terms of his father's will.
A lecture was given by Cole Weston and was very well attended with a high percentage of students from the University of Canterbury School of Fine Arts.
The beautiful catalogue subtitled The Flame of Recognition was produced by the Museum of Modern Art in which his photographs were accompanied by excerpts from his private daybooks and letters.
