An exhibition of Japanese dolls made by skilled craftsmen
This exhibition was held to mark Japan Week 1988. Dolls have a long history in Japan and the dolls on display were ceremonial dolls only brought out at the Girls' Festival and Children's Day. There were also limbless wooden dolls of Northeastern Japan as well as other special folk dolls.
