Daniel von Sturmer: Tableaux Plastique (2008)

This exhibition is now closed

Daniel von Sturmer is known for his experiments with space, video installations which mystify the viewer's sense of space, scale and orientation, and test how it is we see what we see.

The works in Tableaux Plastique show real objects in real time: paint being poured, string curling on the ground and squares of paper floating across a surface. The palette is reduced and the images, objects and activity pared down in a precise and restrained way.

These sequences blend painting, performance and sculpture.
