Art from Malaysia

Although some Malaysian artists were already individually known overseas, this exhibition was the first time a truly representative collection of contemporary Malaysian art had been brought together for showing in New Zealand.

The exhibition embraced the works of 50 artists, covered all media in current use in Malaysia, except ceramics, and all the exhibits had been created within the previous two years.
