An indigenous clan-based people living in harmony with nature find their way of life threatened when violent interlopers from another culture arrive, intent on seizing their natural resources and enslaving them.
The most expensive historical epic film ever produced in Taiwan, Warriors of the Rainbow runs for two and a half in this abbreviated international version.
Christchurch Art Gallery and the University of Canterbury present the Taiwan Film Series: Wei Te-sheng. This event series is part of UC’s Spotlight Taiwan project, which is funded by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture and supported by Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New Zealand.
