DAY 1:  Friends Art Trip to Auckland includes a visit to the newly refurbished Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki with a private tour led by Mary Kisler, the Mackelvie Curator of International Art, around the current touring exhibition from the National Galleries of Scotland entitled, Degas to Dali:  

 From Monet to Miró, Renoir to Picasso, Magritte to Warhol and Degas to Dalí, experience the legendary skill of 62 international master artists who revolutionised our way of seeing.

DAY 2:  A day trip to Gibbs Farm, Sculpture Park where there are over 20 works by national and international artists, including Anish Kapoor, Andy Goldsworthy and Neil Dawson, set in a spectacular landscape.

Itinerary:

Saturday –
Leisure time to explore the various galleries in and around the city.
5pm: Friends of Auckland Art Gallery will meet us for wine and nibbles before our tour of Degas to Dali begins. There will be an opportunity to ask Mary Kisler questions, and spend more time at the exhibition, then your evening is free.

Sunday -
10am: pick-up from Auckland Art Gallery for our bus trip (approx one hour) to the Gibbs Farm on Kaipara Harbour. Boxed lunch provided at the farm. 4pm: Bus leaves and returns to Auckland Art Gallery at 5pm.

NB:  The trip on Sunday entails a lot of walking on the farm and there are no facilities for sitting down, so a high level of fitness is required. There are also many large animals which roam the farm freely, so closed-in sensible footwear is a must.

Flights, meals (except Sunday lunch) and accommodation are the individual’s responsibility – previous experience has shown us that this is usually preferable.

There are many hotels/apartments in the vicinity of the CBD.
