Sue Pearson (Norf’k / Norfolk Island) has printed this work with images of 648 Norfolk Island pine trees of varied maturity. They represent the 648 community members who on 1 January 2026 voted to uphold the 1838 constitution brought to Norfolk Island by ancestors from Pitcairn Island, which had been dismantled by the Commonwealth of Australia in 2015. As Pearson has said, “this election was an act of self-determination and reclaiming of a representative body to genuinely work for the peace, rights and good governance and to progress and voice the aspirations of the people of Norfolk Island.”
