Clock tower
Behind the scenes
We note the recomissioning of the clock tower in Victoria Street reported in today's Press

Here is W.A. Sutton's treatment of the scene. This is a very early watercolour, from about 1939, in the collection of the University of Canterbury. Victoria Mansions must have been pretty new when Sutton set up his easel - only they and the tower survive.
