Barry Brickell's Art Train Up The Coast

Behind the scenes

Passenger trains are few and far between in the South Island these days, probably the North Island as well for that matter, but Barry Brickell's Art Train up The Coast is one trip I would dearly love to take.

The trip has been organised by Brett from the Brett McDowell Gallery and the train follows the line from Dunedin, through a raft of tunnels, past Port Chalmers and Carey's Bay, through to Blueskin Bay, and then along the amazingly rugged coastline past Seacliff and on to Waitati, before making the return trip back to Dunedin... And Barry will give a running commentry along the way. Sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
