Art Bites are Back!
Behind the scenes
Art Bites were always a popular offering at the Gallery, so we've brought them back. And like most things in post-quake Christchurch, they're the same but different.
With our collection safely locked away while the Gallery building is closed for repairs, we're bringing audiences at our off-site exhibition spaces Art Bites from the Collection because like us, we know you will be missing those gems.
Presented by our friendly and informative volunteer guides, these thirty-minute lunchtime presentations are a wonderful way to re-unite with old favourites, learn more about the work, how it came to be in our collection and the life of the artist.
There is a catch and we're up front about it. We need to use digital reproductions because we can't access the actual works.
This Friday, Barry Allom will present Amigoni's Bacchus and Ariadne, so come and join us at 12.30pm in our space at 209 Tuam Street, above C1 Espresso on the corner of Tuam and High streets. If you can't make it on Friday, we repeat the Art Bite at the same time on Sunday. And what's more, you can view Mark Adams: Cook's Sites which is closing 4pm this Sunday.
Art Bites take place every fortnight on a Friday, repeated the following Sunday. Check out our events calendar for more information.
