Behind the scenes
I've often wondered about the possibility of a small, but memorable exhibition. Maybe five, three or even a single picture.
So I was intrigued to see Jan van Eyck's Virgin and Child with Saints and donor at Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga in Lisbon.
A solitary loan from the Frick collection in New York, it was given the same treatment as other exhibitions on at the same museum.
It was definitely worth taking a magnifying glass to look at.
