Christian Marclay's groundbreaking 24-hour video collage The Clock was recently shown in Sydney as part of the MCA's reopening celebrations.
A clock. But not The Clock. Just a fluoro one I liked the look of.
The MCA event was extensively promoted, as has been the work itself since its creation, and I was starting to feel as though I could be developing The Clock Fatigue Syndrome – until I read this fascinating article by Daniel Zalewski on the making of the work, and how it relates to Marclay's practice, in the New Yorker.
