Trick AND Treat

Behind the scenes

Hist and hark! Draw near and tremble,
for 'tis this night that ghosts assemble!

It's probably indicative of a rather sheltered childhood, but to this day, my fondest, most lasting memories of Hallowe'en are of the lemonade popsicles that were handed out free (FREE!) to every child and more than a few adults at the Waimairi Primary School Hallowe'en party. This was the eighties, so they weren't those modern 'mini-pop' iceblocks, but the old-school, original full size, so you then had to divide your attention between the iceblock dripping furiously down your arm and the wicked fireworks display that would definitely have breached current Health and Safety regulations.

Ah, happy, dangerous days....
