To celebrate Matariki, the Maori New Year, a group of Gallery staff are singing waiata.

We are meeting once a week in June in the Brought to Light arcade to practise the waiata we already know and learn some new ones.

Matariki is a time for reflection, learning and preparation for the year ahead. How appropriate as we reflect on our city's recent events and prepare for the Gallery's re-opening.
