This was the first exhibition to come from Yugoslavia and it coincided with the observance of the centenary of the arrival of the first settlers in New Zealand from Dalmatia.

Painting, sculpture, photography and printmaking were featured. The artists in this exhibition already had established international reputations in their own fields and nine of them were included in the International of Drawings organised by the Robert McDougall Art Gallery as part of its Arts Festival programme in 1978.
