Teresa Maguire

This exhibition is now closed

Fourteen paintings by Teresa Maguire were exhibited as part of the Canterbury Review series. Maguire's works featured the use of richly intense colours in acrylic and oil to express her interest in patterns found in the domestic environment. Regarding her own practice, she has said:

"I suppose my works at the moment fall into the genre of still life. The subjects I choose are windows, furniture and clothing which seem beautiful to me, or which are a very familiar part of my surroundings. I always consider them for a long time before beginning them, and attempt to trap in the painting the particular 'mood' or the subject."
