Print Council of New Zealand Exhibition 1969

This exhibition is now closed

The main purpose of the Print Council was to encourage and stimulate printmaking in New Zealand and to make prints available to the general public. The prints included in this exhibition were evidence of the continued revival of printmaking in New Zealand.

New artists and new techniques were well represented in this show which contained 75 works by 22 artists including Barry Cleavin, John Drawbridge, Patrick Hanly, Ralph Hotere, Eileen Mayo, Juliet Peter, Gary Tricker and Marilynn Webb.

An exhibition of selected prints from this exhibition and earlier annual exhibitions travelled to Australia and the United States with support from the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council and the Smithsonian Institute.
