An unusual combination of talents made Giovanni Battista Piranesi one of the most remarkable artists of the 18th century He made a signal contribution to art, architecture, archaeology and civil engineering by producing over one thousand large etchings depicting the vestiges of Roman art and architecture that were still existing in his day. exhibition of etchings is presented in three sections:
