This was the second exhibition of twentieth century New Zealand painting to be shown featuring established artists who were making a positive contribution to New Zealand art. The contributors were Doris Lusk, Jan Michels, Janet Paul, Ron Stenberg, Arthur Thompson, John Weeks, Toss Woollaston and John Zambelis. The works were mainly oils, with some tempera, ink and gouache.
Works for sale could be purchased through the Auckland Art Gallery.
