From 1 July the Gallery will be exhibiting a suite of photographs by this young New Zealand photographer. The works are a pictorial essay of a well known Christchurch establishment – "The Doghouse" in the Square and were taken during 1978 when the photographer was a resident of Christchurch. As a form of social commentary the photograph can be a powerful medium and the public should find these works not only relatively easy to relate to, but also an interesting comment on the aspect of our city.
